HHIRC Code of Conduct
for all members/meetings
A Parliamentarian may be appointed at the call of the President.
The meeting will be conducted following HHIRC Rules and if it is not addressed in our Rules we will then refer to BCRP Rules and Robert’s Rules of Order with final determination of any issues to be made by the Parliamentarian.
Speakers must be recognized by the President or Chair conducting the meeting and only one person to speak at a time, and all comments shall be on the topic of the speaker. Comments MUST be respectful and NO Profanity, personal attacks or include any reference to ethnic, racial, or religious beliefs. Anyone making any offensive statement will be asked to leave. The Executive Committee can consider reprimanding or censuring anyone making offensive statements.
All rules must be respected and obeyed, and no verbal attacks will be tolerated. Violators may be ejected from the meeting, may be asked not to attend future meetings, and may be reprimanded or censured by the Executive Committee.
No printed material will be distributed at the meeting unless it has been previously approved by the EXECUTIVE Committee.
Public comment usually will not be opened at the end of membership meetings. If the members feel they are necessary, the President or Chair running the meeting ask for public comment at the conclusion of the regular meeting. The speakers are limited to 1 minute and their time may not be given to another speaker. All comments are to be made through the Chair and may be on any subject.
